Leslie Xu holds a doctorate in law and has studied in China, the United States, and Germany. He is a recipient of the prestigious Humboldt Research Fellowship (awarded by the German Chancellor) and the EU International Exchange Fellowship, and has developed a strong academic foundation in comparative legal systems. His research focuses on intellectual property law, competition law, and cross-border legal practice. He has published widely in leading domestic and international legal journals and has been invited to present at numerous academic and professional conferences in China and abroad.
In practice, Leslie Xu leads a cross-regional team based in Shanghai and Beijing, serving both domestic and international clients across industries including consumer goods, manufacturing, hospitality, technology, finance, and energy. His areas of expertise span a broad spectrum of services such as IP prosecution and enforcement strategy, trademark and copyright litigation and non-litigation dispute resolution, administrative enforcement, due diligence, IP licensing, domain name disputes, unfair competition, and antitrust matters. He has advised Chinese companies on IP disputes across EU jurisdictions and has worked closely with both Chinese and European businesses on brand licensing, technology collaboration, and related legal matters.
Under his leadership, the firm's Shanghai Office has continued to grow steadily, becoming a key operational hub in East China and the Yangtze River Delta region. The office focuses on complex IP dispute resolution, cross-border IP strategy, and full-lifecycle legal services for technology-driven companies.
