From November 22 to 25, 2024, the 14th China International Trademark & Brand Festival ("Trademark Festival") was held in Xi 'an. Sponsored by China Trademark Association (CTA), with the theme of "Promoting Services for Brand Building Projects and Fostering Famous Brands in China", the Trademark Festival attracted enterprises, institutions, academics and media representatives from the world.

During the festival, all parties carried out in-depth discussions about the innovation, development, protection and market expansion of trademark brands. On November 22, the Welcome Banquet and Award Ceremony of the 14th Trademark Festival was held at the Xi'an International Convention and Exhibition Center. On November 24, Emma Ma, partner and head of trademark business of Chang Tsi & Partners, vice-president of CTA participate in the Sino-Japanese trademark exchange meeting, and delivered a keynote speech on the contents of trademark coexistence system and name trademark in the amendment of trademark law. This is an important activity set up in this trademark festival to promote exchanges and cooperation between China and Japan in the field of trademarks. The content of Emma Ma's speech mainly involves the latest trends, goals and significance of the revision of China's trademark law. She gave a detailed interpretation of the key contents and proposals in the draft, and expounded her views on the impact and future direction of the development of China's trademark law.

It is notable that the “TOTO” trademark infringement criminal prosecution case represented by Chang Tsi & Partners was selected as one of the "Trademark Typical Case " in the Meeting on Trademark Typical Case Analysis. The focus of the case was whether the intentional use of fake goods in a turnkey project contract constituted sales. The Chongqing High People's Court reversed the decisions of the first and second instance courts and ruled that Chen Jiayong's actions constituted the crime of selling counterfeit registered trademark goods. It became a guiding case in the field of "turnkey projects", and has important supportive effects on similar cases in the future. The case was named as top 10 intellectual property judicial protection cases in Chongqing courts in 2022, and this reaffirmation further demonstrates the excellence of Chang Tsi & Partners in IP practice areas.

During the Trademark Festival, Fu MA, President of CTA, met with Etienne Sanz de Acedo, CEO of International Trademark Association (INTA). The two parties have established a solid partnership by sending invitations to each other for festival, conference, annual meeting, forums and seminars every year. In-depth exchanges on cutting-edge trademark legal issues and protection measures were conducted to deliver latest information of brand promotion and IP protection.
