Chang Tsi & Partners is glad to announce the promotion of three lawyers to partners: Sue Gui, head of the litigation business of the project team; Leslie Xu, head of the firm's Shanghai Office and director of Chang Tsi Strategic Research Institute; and Lester Li, head of the Asia-Pacific business group.
Sue Gui has long specialized in trademark protection and dispute resolution. She has particular expertise in combating bad-faith trademark filings, trademark administrative litigation, civil infringement actions, IP-related criminal proceedings, unfair competition disputes, domain name disputes, and handling complex contentious matters. She has advised numerous well-known multinational companies on intellectual property acquisition and enforcement in China. Several litigations she represented have been recognized by Chinese courts as typical cases. She has been named a Legal 500 Rising Star, listed multiple times in the authoritative Guide to Boutique Intellectual Property Law Service Brands, and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the China Subcommittee of INTA’s Anti-Counterfeiting Committee.
Dr. Leslie (Liang) Xu is the Director of the Chang Tsi Strategic Research Institute — the firm’s professional think tank and brand research platform — and Head of the Shanghai Office. With over a decade of experience in complex IP litigation and high-level non-litigation matters, his expertise covers trademark and copyright disputes, anti-unfair competition, and cross-border enforcement. Combining deep legal insight with strategic analysis, he helps clients navigate rapidly evolving IP landscapes and capitalize on global market opportunities.
Lester Li is the head of Chang Tsi Asia-Pacific Practice Department, he advises clients on comprehensive trademark portfolio management and brand strategy. He also actively supports clients with cross-border business expansion, particularly between Asia, the United States and Europe. With a strong understanding of both commercial realities and regulatory frameworks, Lester helps clients develop integrated IP strategies that support long-term growth and international market entry.
