The Beijing Trademark Association (BTA) marked its 30th anniversary with a grand celebration and the Trademark Development Conference. Under the theme “Together for Three Decades, Advancing with Honor”, the event gathered nearly 500 attendees, including senior officials from national and municipal authorities, leading IP scholars, representatives from provincial associations and BTA member organizations. The conference served as both a reflection on three decades of progress and a forward-looking dialogue on new opportunities and challenges in trademark protection.
As a long-standing BTA member and Gold Sponsor of the event, Chang Tsi & Partners actively participated throughout the conference, engaging in in-depth discussions with industry representatives and reinforcing its strong collaboration with the association and its partners.
During the plenary session, Lester Li from domestic practice team of the firm delivered a keynote address titled “Key Comparisons and Practical Insights into Trademark Systems in Popular Overseas Markets.” Drawing from extensive case experience, he compared trademark registration, opposition, invalidation procedures, use requirements, and enforcement environments across major markets in Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, offering practical strategies for Chinese brands going global.
In a breakout session on brand cultivation and protection, Partner Eva Hu presented “Corporate Brand Protection: Trademark or Trade Name?”. She analyzed the legal distinctions, protection mechanisms, and potential conflicts between trade names and trademarks, advocating for an integrated protection strategy to enhance brand value while mitigating risks.
At the awards ceremony, Chang Tsi & Partners was named “Gold Trademark Legal Service Team”, underscoring its full-spectrum expertise and achievements in trademark law.
