The restoration of priority rights, addition, or correction of priority claims in Chinese patent applications, as outlined in the "Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Patent Law of the People's Republic of China" (hereinafter referred to as the "Rules"), effective January 20, 2024, has garnered significant attention from both domestic and international patent applicants. This new Regulations and Policies provides applicants with more effective remedies regarding priority periods and procedural handling, aligning with the rules of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (hereinafter referred to as "PCT") for international applications. It is considered a major beneficial reform.
