In June 2012, entrusted by one of our clients, a well-known international shoe Company based in USA, Chang Tsi & Partner conducted careful probe into counterfeiting products bearing the trademark of our client. We then reported the clues to the local authority for Public Security Bureau in Xiyuan County, Jinjiang City, Fujian Prov., which inspected a suspect location stored with great amount of counterfeiting shoes. Over 1800 pairs of shoes bearing the trademark of our clients were seized on the spot, and three of the factory supervisors were put in government custody. All the counterfeits have been confiscated, and the case is currently under further disposal.
The raid action, made possible by our investigations beforehand, represented a strong determination and action to protect the right of trademark owners. Our client has expressed great appreciation of our prompt actions. This raid also spells an effective warning to potential infringers.
In June 2012, attorneys from Chang Tsi & Partners recently traveled to Tianjin Customs to conduct training programs about customs protection on IPR together their brand representatives for our client, an internationally well-known Japanese-inspired lifestyle brand.
In May 2012, Xiamen Customs identified 1,332 pairs of suspected counterfeit shoes with a declared value of RMB 100,000. The goods were being shipped to the United States.
